J.D. Salinger’s diction (word choice) for Holden Caulfield is unique and interesting.
His voice is easily distinguished among literary characters. What do you find
interesting/unique/distinguishable about Holden’s style of speech? As you respond to this post...
Think about: What types of words does he use? What is the tone? Is he grammatically correct?

He likes to lie and curse and he also likes to say phony.
ReplyDeleteHolden'speech in interesting and unique because he makes it his own. He is not grammatically correct because he spells thing wrong and usually just combines two words together
ReplyDeletehe is always looking at things badly but acts like a phony by lying. he always cuss in alomost every sentence. sometimes his grammar is bad
ReplyDeleteholden likes to lie curse always talking about phonys and say some words that don't make sense
ReplyDeleteHolden's choice of words are vary unique AND Descriptive to some. If you were in his head you would be thinking different. He often uses profanity to explain things or if he does not agree with. I think he could improve his style of communication if he would drop the cursewords.
